In one of the most incredible sports moments in recent memory, the city of Cleveland ended their five-decade championship drought on Sunday night. The Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors 93-89 in a thrilling Game 7 matchup to win the NBA Finals.
In doing so, the Cavs became the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 deficit to win a Finals series, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the play of LeBron James, who was named the unanimous MVP of the series. When he returned to Cleveland a few years ago, James made it clear that his goal was to bring a championship to Cleveland. On Sunday night, he did just that.
It was an incredible Game 7, an incredible series by James, and an incredible moment for Cleveland. Storylines like this one are a large part of what makes sports so awesome, and plenty of people were paying attention to it. As the Cavaliers clinched the title, a number of Colts players took to Twitter to react.
Dude filmed Trainwreck last offseason.. Signed a billion dollar deal.. He's about to be MVP of another finals.. Lebron's life is majestic.
