The Indianapolis Colts will report to training camp on July 26 (TODAY!) with their 90-man roster, which will be cut down to 53 players by the end of the preseason. To pass the time until camp, we’re taking a look at every player on the Colts’ 90-man roster. Today, we’re looking at defensive lineman Henry Anderson.
Who is he?
Henry Anderson was one of the brightest spots for the Colts in an overall disappointing 2015 season. He started the first nine games of the season and excelled while doing so, recording 31 tackles, a sack, and two passes defensed. He provided very good defense against the run, but unfortunately he tore his ACL in week nine that resulted in him missing the rest of the season. His return timetable is uncertain, though the hope is he’ll be ready either by or around the start of the regular season.
What is his role?
Anderson is one of the Colts’ best defensive players, so his spot is absolutely secure. Whenever he’s healthy, he’ll slide right back into a starting spot along the defensive line and should continue to produce. The Colts have a deep defensive line and will be rotating, but Anderson figures to be a very good player once again and the premier player on the unit. There’s little doubt about Anderson’s spot, the only question is when he will return and how he will play right upon doing so.
What are his chances?
He’ll make the roster and will play a major role in the defense once again.
