The Indianapolis Colts made a roster move this morning, filling their two open spots on the 90-man roster by signing running back Chase Price and linebacker Anthony Sarao.
The Colts originally signed Sarao as an undrafted free agent this spring following the conclusion of the NFL Draft, but after participating in rookie mini-camp he was waived. He played collegiately at USC, where he played in 54 games (starting 34) and recorded 217 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, five passes defensed, and two picks (one retured for a score). He takes Amarlo Herrera’s spot on the roster, as Herrera - the Colts’ sixth round draft pick last year - was waived yesterday.
As for Price, he was also a participant in the Colts’ rookie mini-camp this spring, though he was only participating on a tryout basis and was never signed. He played collegiately at San Diego State, where he appeared in 50 games and rushed for 1,896 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging 5.03 yards per rush, and he also caught 34 passes for 247 yards and a score. Price takes Abou Toure’s role on the roster as a depth running back, as Toure was waived-injured yesterday.
