T.Y. Hilton, Vontae Davis, Robert Mathis among Colts not playing vs. Ravens

Andrew Luck is back for the Indianapolis Colts tonight as they take on the Baltimore Ravens, but they still won’t be at full strength.

Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, cornerback Vontae Davis, and outside linebacker Robert Mathis are among the Colts players not dressed tonight, according to FOX59’s Mike Chappell. Chappell reports that Hilton and Davis are dealing with “minor, minor issues” from their most recent practice. Mathis, meanwhile, was sore a bit this week so the Colts were being careful with him, so he’s not going either. Head coach Chuck Pagano said on Thursday that Mathis would play “barring anything crazy,” so it’s at least worth wondering why Mathis isn’t out there, but most likely it’s just because he’s a 35 year old who doesn’t really need to play in the preseason. In other words, the Colts are just being very cautious, which is much better than pushing guys with minor injuries and instead making them worse.

In addition to those three, guard Hugh Thornton, cornerback Jalil Brown, cornerback Darius Butler, wide receiver Marcus Leak, inside linebacker Sio Moore, defensive lineman Kendall Langford, defensive lineman Henry Anderson, and safety Clayton Geathers aren’t dressing tonight.
