Yesterday, tornadoes tore through central Indiana and affected many people, especially in Kokomo, where a Starbucks was destroyed and damage to houses and structures was also reported.
Colts head coach Chuck Pagano began his press conference today by offering his condolences and thoughts and prayers with those affected by the tornadoes, saying that Jim Irsay and the rest of the Colts organization will do their part to help the people recover.
The Colts aren’t waiting long to help, either, as Colts players, staff, cheerleaders, and Blue will visit Kokomo this afternoon to help the affected families. Furthermore, the Colts are providing financial support for the American Red Cross and the United Way of Howard County, while the proceeds of the 50/50 raffle from Saturday’s preseason game will be donated to the Red Cross and other relief organizations to help. The organization will use social media to help raise awareness and encourage donations, while Colts cheerleaders will participate in a telethon on CBS4 this evening to help raise money for the Salvation Army as they seek to help with the relief efforts. Head coach Chuck Pagano will also appear in public service announcements with CBS4’s Chris Wright that will air during Saturday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Several Colts players also took to social media to express their condolences and support for the people of Kokomo.
