Colts cut ten players

NFL: Preseason-Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts Thomas J. Russo-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts have to get their roster down to 75 players by Tuesday, and they got the cuts underway today by waiving ten players:

Justin Berger, WR

Alden Darby, S

Eric Herman, guard

Ricky Lumpkin, DT

Mike Miller, TE

Chase Price, RB

Winston Rose, CB

Delvon Simmons, DL

Josh Stangby, WR

Junior Sylvestre, ILB

There aren't really many surprises on this list, as you probably could have guessed most of the cuts simply by paying attention to who was or wasn't playing. The guys that were cut weren't really seeing many snaps.

The first roster cuts to 75 players are normally the easy ones, as they consist of guys who don't play much and/or don't impress. That's certainly the case here. The Colts still have five more cuts to make by Tuesday in order to get down to the 75 player limit, and it's likely that those five cuts will be a bit tougher as the Colts determine who to keep based on injury situations.
