Colts Thursday Injury Report: T.Y. Hilton misses practice with knee injury

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Colts’ injury report right now is not pretty.

There were 16 players listed on the team’s injury report today with issues of varying degrees, ranging from a rest day to guys who are still week-to-week. The team did get a couple of players back at practice today after they missed yesterday, but they also saw wide receiver T.Y. Hilton miss practice with a knee injury.

Here’s the full practice report for Thursday, followed by some comments:

Did Not Practice:

Trent Cole, OLB (back)

Vontae Davis, CB (ankle)

T.J. Green, S (knee)

Patrick Robinson, CB (concussion)

T.Y. Hilton, WR (knee)

D’Qwell Jackson, ILB (rest)

Henry Anderson, DT (knee)

Darius Butler, CB (ankle)

Antonio Cromartie, DB (hamstring)

Clayton Geathers, S (foot)

Zach Kerr, NT (foot)

Andrew Luck, QB (right shoulder)

Robert Mathis, OLB (foot)

Jonotthan Harrison, C (back)

Kendall Langford, DE (knee)

Joe Reitz, OL (foot)

The big addition to the injury report today was T.Y. Hilton, who sat out with a knee injury. Odds are this isn’t a major deal and it’s nothing to worry about, but it’s still not great to see the team’s number one wideout appear on the injury report and miss practice. Quarterback Andrew Luck was also a new addition to the injury report today as he was limited with a right shoulder injury, but this was expected after the same thing happened a week ago.

Furthermore, three players who missed practice entirely yesterday were back today: pass rusher Robert Mathis was limited with a foot injury, while right tackle Joe Reitz was a full participant. Clayton Geathers missed practice yesterday due to the birth of his child, but he was back in a limited role today as he continues to work his way back from a foot injury. In addition, Jonotthan Harrison and Kendall Langford were both full participants today after being limited yesterday. So while it might not seem like it initially, there are some things getting better for the Colts on the injury front.

With that said, there are some situations to note. Trent Cole, Vontae Davis, T.J. Green, and Patrick Robinson have both missed the entire week of practice so far, which isn’t a great sign for their status on Sunday. Of course, we know that Davis and Green are still week-to-week and that they won’t play, while Robinson is in the concussion protocol. With Cole, we don’t really have details on the extent of his injury but the fact that he’s missed two days of practice is at the very least concerning for his game status, which we should learn more about tomorrow.
