The Indianapolis Colts this morning filled the open spot on their 53-man roster by signing wide receiver Devin Steet off of the New England Patriots practice squad.

It should be no surprise that the team added a wide receiver, as there are questions swirling about Donte Moncrief’s health. We hopefully will get an injury update later this morning from Chuck Pagano, but if Moncrief has to miss time due to his shoulder injury, the Colts would have been very thin at receiver. So it’s no surprise to see them add another wideout to provide some more depth to go along with Chester Rogers and Quan Bray.

Street was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. He played in 31 games with the Cowboys over the last two years (starting two) and caught nine passes for 132 yards and a touchdown. This year, he was with the team through the offseason, training camp, and preseason but was cut as a part of the final roster cutdowns. The Patriots then signed him to their practice squad.
