Colts trail Jaguars 17-3 at halftime

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

At halftime of today’s game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Colts trail 17-3 - and their play was even uglier than that score indicates.

The Jaguars racked up 320 yards of offense and 17 points while averaging 8.2 yards per play. They rushed for 141 yards and averaged 8.8 yards per rush, just completely gashing the Colts on the ground the same way the Raiders did a week ago.

The Colts, meanwhile, recorded just 105 yards of offense and scored just three points, and they averaged just 3.5 yards per play. Their first four drives all ended in three and outs, and it was a pathetic performance by Indy’s offense.

Basically, everything has gone wrong for the Colts in the first half. When Jack Doyle drops a pass and Adam Vinatieri misses a field goal, you know things aren’t going well for Indianapolis. Their defense was just terrible and was gashed on the ground, and their offense couldn’t get anything going.

But hey, take heart Colts fans: the Colts are on track to get a better draft pick and hopefully a new management and coaching staff, which makes this game a bit more bearable. Anyway, here’s an open thread for the second half of this miserable game, if you’re inclined to actually watch it:
