It came down the the tie-breaker this past week with two members getting 4 out of the 5 wagers correct. TNutty’s estimated attendance of 67,845 was under by roughly 1000 and earned him or her the victory this past week. Let’s recap the action.
Wager number one was merely a question of even or odd on total points. There really isn’t a whole lot to dissect here. The total was 64. Even
Wager number two was total passing touchdowns and the over/under was set at 3.5. If you looked at the total score you would think the over was easily the answer but, with a couple of defensive scores and running backs getting into the mix, the under was kept in play. Jacoby Brissett only threw for one touchdown while Russell Wilson threw for two. Under
Wager number three was total sacks by the Colts defense and the over/under was set at 2.5. Seattle’s offensive line has been terrible all season and, despite the final score, it wasn’t much better last Sunday. Any other quarterback not named Russell Wilson would have been carried off the field on a cart but his ability to use his legs and make plays kept him upright and the chains moving. The Colt were still able to get to him three times to make the over the correct answer. Over
Wager number four was a simple yes or no question regarding either defense or special teams scoring a touchdown. Unfortunately for the Colts, both defensive touchdowns were scored by Seattle. I believe that gives the Colts opponents’ a defensive touchdown in 3 of 4 contests this season...not an ideal trend. Yes
Wager number five was a question regarding which team have the longer field goal. This was a bit of a coin toss wager with a slight edge to the home team. The edge ended up being correct as Blair Walsh out-kicked Adam Vinatieri thanks to his first quarter, 44 yard field goal. Seattle
The tie-breaker was the difference maker this week. Total attendance was 68,872 and TNutty’s guess was better than NoahmTodd and it earned him or her the victory. Congratulations, TNutty, you are in the drawing for the grand prize at the end of the season.
Here are this week’s wagers.
