Despite being a full participant in Thursday and Friday practices Indianapolis Colts rookie cornerback Quincy Wilson will be inactive today as the San Francisco 49ers come to town. Perhaps an additional surprise is that Rashaan Melvin who did not practice Thursday, and was limited Wednesday and Friday will be active today in spite of being deemed ‘questionable’ in the injury report.
The Wilson news makes you wonder what happened between Friday and today that would cause him to be scratched being that he had no designation for the game today. With that the Colts secondary will again be missing an important piece of the depth with Wilson out.
It’s a good thing that Melvin is apparently healthy today with Vontae Davis just being into his second game of the year. I’m sure this will be brought up post game and we’ll update you as soon as we hear what has occurred.
