Four Colts starters will miss the contest; five players total. Wide receiver Donte Moncrief (ankle), center Ryan Kelly (concussion), outside cornerback Rashaan Melvin (hand) and nickel corner Nate Hairston (concussion) all will be out of the lineup along with third tight end Darrell Daniels (hamstring). The good news, however, is that they will get defensive lineman Hassan Ridgeway back for the first time in four weeks.
Moncrief missed Sunday’s game against the Bills and hasn’t practiced in the last two weeks. Chester Rogers and Kamar Aiken will see increased playing time in Moncrief’s absence.
Kelly will miss his third straight game and will be replaced in the lineup by either Mike Person or Anthony Fabiano. Last week, Fabiano started even though Person was healthy enough to play through an ankle injury.
Melvin injured himself three weeks ago while making an interception and has missed the last two games. Hairston will miss his second game of the season, the first with this current injury. Rookies Quincy Wilson and Kenny Moore will likely start outside, with Chris Milton and D.J. White filling in. There’s a good chance that T.J. Green sees action at cornerback as well.
Daniels has missed the last three games and has been replaced by Jason Vander Laan on special teams and Ross Travis on offense.
The Broncos’ injury report is as follows:
- Nose tackle Domata Peko (knee) is questionable.
- Quarterback Paxton Lynch (ankle) is out.
- Safety Justin Simmons (ankle) was put on injured reserve this week.
