Full list of participants in Colts rookie mini-camp revealed

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts today will begin their rookie mini-camp, which runs for three days this weekend and is a time where the team and their coaches can work with the rookies that have been brought in.

These players include draft picks, undrafted free agents, tryout players, and a few others. This year in camp, it looks like the Colts will have 70 players participating, per Colts.com’s Kevin Bowen. Chris Ballard yesterday said that the team would have 73 players participating so it’s possible that a couple of tryout guys couldn’t make it. But either way, 70 is a very large number for a team to have at rookie mini-camp, and it goes right along with Ballard’s emphasis on competition.

Every year there seem to be at least a few players who stand out so much in rookie mini-camp that they wind up getting signed shortly thereafter, and last year Frankie Williams was a notable example. And especially with 40 guys in on a tryout basis, it shouldn’t be a surprise at all if next week we see a couple of them officially sign with the Colts - perhaps at the expense of some of the UDFAs who did already sign with them.

The participants are made up of the Colts’ eight draft picks, 18 undrafted free agent signings, 40 tryout players, and four others. Here’s the full list, again per the roster Kevin Bowen tweeted out.
