In what has become an annual tradition, the Indianapolis Colts rookies today got a chance to visit one of the most notable sites in the state of Indiana: the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The site of the annual Indianapolis 500, as well as other races and events, it is a big cultural part of the state and it’s a cool place to visit, and the Colts’ rookies each year get the opportunity to take a field trip and do just that.
I’m sure it’s a nice break from the normal grind of the work the rookies are putting in as they try to get up to speed and work during the offseason program, and it’s not only a chance to see one of the more popular and significant sites in the state’s lore but it’s also a chance for the rookies to get to know each other better and hang out, so it can double as a team bonding experience too.
In short, it’s a really cool thing that they’re able to do and it’s nice that the Colts are helping their rookies get acclimated, at least in some small way, to the state’s history and landmarks.
