Welcome to the refreshed Stampede Blue! To celebrate the new look and feel of our sports communities, we’re sharing stories of how and why we became fans of our favorite teams. If you’d like to share your story, head over to the FanPosts to write your own post. Each FanPost will be entered into a drawing to win a $500 Fanatics gift card. We’re collecting all of the stories here and featuring the best ones across our network as well. Come Fan With Us!

As you can tell by looking at our site, things look a bit different as SB Nation is rolling out a refresh of their layout on the team sites. So to go along with that, each site is discussing why we became fans.

To be honest, my story of becoming a Colts fan is rather simple: it was just the way I grew up. Growing up in Indiana, my family rooted for the Colts and so I began to as well from an early age. I began to study more and more about the Colts, like many of you, and I became obsessed with the team, wanting to know every little detail. That has proven very helpful in covering the team, as it is easy to remember events from Colts games in years past because I was so in-tune with the team. The peak of all of it for me was during the prime of the Peyton Manning years, as obviously the team was very, very good with the G.O.A.T. at quarterback winning multiple MVPs. That was an extremely fun time to be a Colts fan. Being a Colts fan is all I’ve known while rooting for a football team, but it’s all I’ve needed to know too: there have been disappointments and heartbreaks, but there have also been some pretty amazing moments and some pretty amazing players.

So yeah, my story really isn’t all that exciting, but I imagine it’s a similar story to many of our readers. I became a Colts fan as early as I can remember and soon became obsessed with the team, and the Peyton years were absolutely amazing. That’s my story... but what about yours?

As part of the rollout of our new look, SB Nation is offering a sweepstakes where they will give away one $500 gift card to Fanatics.com to one reader who writes a FanPost.
