As many on this site can attest to, there are Colts fans all over the place. And while that’s a really cool thing, there also can be some inconvenience for those people who don’t live in the Indianapolis area when it comes to the games, particularly in the preseason.
So here’s the good news: two of the Colts’ preseason games this year will be nationally televised.
The NFL Network today announced that they will carry 16 preseason games live this year, and two of those are Colts games. They will broadcast the Colts’ week one game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, August 13, at 1:30 p.m. ET, and then they will also broadcast the Colts’ week two game at the Dallas Cowboys live on Saturday, August 19, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
For the other two games, NFL Network will air a replay of the game at some point like they do for every preseason game, but they won’t be carried live. Here’s the Colts’ complete preseason TV schedule:
Week 1: vs. Detroit Lions, 8/13, 1:30 p.m. - FOX59 and NFL Network
Week 2: at Dallas Cowboys, 8/19, 7:00 p.m. - FOX59 and NFL Network
Week 3: at Pittsburgh Steelers, 8/26, 7:30 p.m. - FOX59
Week 4: vs. Cincinnati Bengals, 8/31, 7:00 p.m. - FOX59
While it’s unclear who will play in these games - most notably whether Andrew Luck will participate at all - it’s still always nice to see the Colts on the field for the first time in months, if only in a preseason game. So it’s good news for Colts fans living outside of the Indy market: their first two preseason contests will also be televised live on NFL Network, giving you a chance to watch them.
