Stampede Blue’s very own Matt Danely attended today’s practice and had the opportunity to take a close look at the wide receivers in individual drills to start the day.

For those who haven’t been able to attend training camp or open practices before, individual position breakouts follow stretching and warming up at the start of each practice.

The big story today was a dust-up between TY Hilton and Vontae Davis when matched up during team drills. Hilton discusses the incident and makes it clear that everything is fine between the wide receiver and corner.

Shortly after the skirmish, Hilton got the best of Davis for a touchdown and let him know about it.
This is what happens when you have a top WR line up against a top CB. #ColtsCamp pic.twitter.com/FlpxM8ER2p

As you will see in this video, no punches were thrown but some shoving got the attention of players and coaches.

Davis didn’t just receive attention from Hilton on the day either as he and Phillip Dorsett also locked up and had a brief discussion on the ground.

Matt enjoyed watching the big uglies get after it today. Again, you can read more about his takeaways in his camp notes.

Here's Pagano talking about his team's reputation for being something less than physical (he said it, not me). #Colts pic.twitter.com/g1uiexKIdw
— Stephen Holder (@HolderStephen) August 1, 2017
Pagano makes it clear that the only way to play football is physical.
This is me asking Pagano if they would increase the hitting as camp progresses. We had a different assessment of today's practice. Lol pic.twitter.com/xvBLXKlhKx
— Stephen Holder (@HolderStephen) August 1, 2017
Holder downplays the physicality in today’s practice and Pagano disagrees. He does admit that the team did not go live today, referring to the contact as “thud.”
