The Indianapolis Colts are making moves this Tuesday following a loss in their first preseason action against the Detroit Lions. Running back Dalton Crossan, who was fighting for a position on the 53-man roster has been waived today with an injury designation. Assuming no other team claims him, he will then be placed on the Colts injured reserve list.
This is unfortunate news for Crossan, who was an undrafted free agent signing this offseason. There were reports that he was impressing at training camp, and potentially had a chance to take Josh Ferguson’s spot on the active roster. Dalton carried the ball three times for 3 yards, he also caught two passes which totaled 11 yards.
In his place the Colts have signed wide receiver Justice Liggins, who previously played with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football league. Liggins, stands around 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, and in his two preseason games caught two passes for 30 yards, one of which was a touchdown.
Liggins will be joining an already crowded receiving group with the Colts, and will need to make the most of any opportunity given to him moving forward.
