First half all stars include John Simon with a role in his third turnover in three preseason games. Scott Tolzien had a strong effort overall, other than an interception. Marlon Mack has continued to play impressive football. The offensive line with Vujnovich at right tackle and Good at RG played quite well overall. Matthias Farley was the defensive MVP playing a huge role in stopping the first team Steelers offense on Roethlisberger’s last drive by batting down a pass and breaking up another. Rookie corner Nate Hairston played well in the nickel, particularly coming down in run support.
The Colts defense allowed two FGs in the first half and the Colts offense scored a touchdown and two FGs of their own. It’s fair to feel much better about the team after watching them play in the first half of this game. This half doesn’t cure all of the team’s ills but there is a much bigger reason to feel like the team is making progress.
