Roster Update: Colts Trade Long Snapper Thomas Hennessy for Jets Safety Ronald Martin

The Colts are busy this afternoon, making a trade with the Jets that sends long snapper Thomas Hennessy in exchange for safety Ronald Martin.

Hennessy is a rookie undrafted free agent who played his collegiate ball at Duke.

Martin is 6’2”, 220lbs, and has been a part of the Jets practice squad for the past two seasons and played in 11 games. He was originally signed by the Seahawks in 2015 and was waived before the start of the season and picked up by the Jets immediately.

As is to be expected, Ballard is active as the regular season nears and we can likely expect many more roster moves in the coming days as he looks to mold this team into a future contender.

With Hennessy on the move, expect to see plenty of linebacker Luke Rhodes at long snapper. Rhodes has taken any other reps at long snapper that Hennessy hasn’t since the spring.

Stay tuned to Stampede Blue for any updates.
