The Indianapolis Colts have elevated wide receiver Krishawn Hogan to the active roster from the practice squad, signed tight end Marcus Lucas and offensive lineman Ian Silberman to the practice squad and released tight end Henry Krieger-Coble, offensive tackle Andrew Wylie and outside linebacker Johnathan Calvin from the practice squad.
Hogan (6-3, 222, 22) played collegiately at Marian University in Indianapolis. In 40 games, he totaled 263 catches for 4,395 yards (16.7 avg) and 42 touchdowns. He did a little bit of everything, also racking up 170 yards on 63 carries (2.7 avg) for 25 touchdowns, plus a passing touchdown.
Hogan was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Arizona Cardinals this spring but was waived during preseason cuts. During the Cardinals’ preseason, he caught 4 passes for 63 yards (15.8 avg). He has been with the Colts on the practice squad since September 4.
The active wide receivers on the Colts’ roster are: T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, Kamar Aiken, Chester Rogers, Quan Bray and Hogan.
Silberman (6-5, 305, 24) is now making his second go-around with the Colts after being signed to their active roster following the NFL’s preseason cut weekend. He was very impressive to the coaching staff with the Oakland Raiders and they’d hoped to be able to sneak him onto their practice squad. Silberman saw action in the Colts’ Week 2 loss to the Cardinals. Before then, he had spent time with the San Francisco 49ers (2015-’16), New England Patriots (2016) and Raiders (2017).
The Colts’ practice squad is as follows:
- QB Phillip Walker
- WR Cyril Grayson
- TE Marcus Lucas
- OT Tyreek Burwell
- OL Ian Silberman
- NT Joey Mbu
- OLB Joshua Perry
They have three spots available.
