After encouraging rumors were swirling that we might see Andrew Luck take the practice field this week, Chuck Pagano has doused those hopes.

This is the first time Pagano has given any kind of timeline to the press regarding Luck’s health and progression, and that in itself must be taken as an encouragement.
“He’s still a week away as far as his throwing progression and things like that,” was the way Pagano phrased it.
What is undeniable is that this is a different approach from the organization regarding this situation. If the Colts were not relatively sure they would be putting him back on the field next week for practice, I think they would not have said anything.
Their normal line has been to say nothing and be completely unhelpful. That makes me think we legitimately should expect to see him practicing next week with a likely return date being the week 6 Monday night game against the Titans or week 7 at home against the Jaguars.
If the team is able to hang in there and play well behind Jacoby Brissett it appears that there is hope on the horizon for the return of their star quarterback.
