The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly released center/guard Brian Schwenke. Schwenke, who was thought to be the fill-in at center while Ryan Kelly nurses his foot injury, sat out the entirety of training camp and didn’t get any preseason action until the preseason finale.

Up to that point the Colts employed undrafted rookie Deyshawn Bond with the first unit, and it appears on the surface that they could be willing to keep him in that role heading in to the regular season opener.
This move could also spell that Kelly is doing well in his rehab process, and that he may be back sooner than originally expected. In the meantime, the team still has some room to open up due to their waiver wire purge earlier in the day.
