- OUT—QB Andrew Luck (shoulder), RB Marlon Mack (shoulder), WR Chester Rogers (hamstring), C Ryan Kelly (foot), ILB Anthony Walker (hamstring), CB Quincy Wilson (knee)
- QUESTIONABLE—CB Chris Milton (hamstring), Matthias Farley (Quad)
None of the players ruled out for Sunday come as a real surprise. There was speculation Luck would practice this week but it appears that will be delayed for at least another week.
Jacoby Brissett will be under center for the 3rd week in a row and will be taking snaps again from Deyshawn Bond. Bond was limited with an ankle on Wednesday but finished the week practicing fully and is ready to go for Sunday.
It was nice to see Ryan Kelly getting some limited work in this past week. I’m hoping he is a full participant next week. If, for some reason, he isn’t ready to go at home against San Francisco he will surely be up to speed by the conference game against Tennessee.
Marlon Mack is still out nursing a sore shoulder which means Matt Jones will serve as the 3rd option in the backfield again this week.
A new name appeared on the report today and is reason for concern in the secondary. Safety Matthias Farley is listed as questionable with a quad injury. This most likely means we’ll see a combination of Malik Hooker and Darius Butler in the safety positions if Farley isn’t able to go.
Now for some good news. The Colts will have Vontae Davis starting in the secondary for the first time this season. I presume last week’s starter Pierre Desir will be moved back to a reserve role but will likely still get some playing time considering Chris Milton is questionable and Quincy Wilson is still out with a “knee”. At this point very little has been shared regarding the extent of his injury of Wilson’s injury.
Another positive is the return of Kamar Aiken to a full participation the last two days. He still needs to be cleared by an independent neurologist, per the league’s concussion protocol, but it appears that will happen by Sunday evening. This is even bigger news with Chester Rogers is still out.
As for the Seahawks, RB C.J. Prosise is doubtful with an ankle (DNP), WR Doug Baldwin is questionable with a groin injury (limited), and CB Neiko Thorpe is questionable with an ankle injury (DNP). If Baldwin is unable to go it would be a huge benefit to the Colts as he is Seattle’s most reliable receiver. It would also represent the fourth straight week where one of the opponent’s best players is unable to go.
