With our second live Colts Cast in as many days, we finally are kicking off our draft outlook for the Indianapolis Colts, and beginning to discuss Chris Ballard’s draft strategy.
Our own Jake Arthur joins me to look at such situations as taking a hard look at Saquon Barkley at third-overall, trading back, which positions should be treated differently — with a premium — in order to get one of the best at a position of need, and one in which the top-level talent at that position is thin.
We take listener questions, kick the latest Colts news out there for the first 15-20 minutes and also question all of the latest action in the head coach search and if it means anything that candidates are bowing out of the race. We also look at the team’s position coaches and coordinators who have begun to leave and land other jobs, as well as question whether or not some of the new coach’s coordinators could be limited if the Colts don’t decide soon.
Is Mike McGlinchey worth the No. 3 pick? How about a guard like Quenton Nelson? How crazy would the Colts secondary look with Minkah Fitzpatrick in the mix along with the existing young group set to return? We talk about it all.
This was another good one with great insight from Jake, and great questions from our callers.
