The Colts announced this afternoon that defensive end/tackle Margus Hunt — along with cornerback Arthur Maulet — will not play in Sunday’s Week 6 matchup against the New York Jets.
With Hunt and Maulet out for Sunday’s game in New York, the Colts now have seven players ruled out against the Jets: Denico Autry, Jack Doyle, Matthias Farley, Clayton Geathers, wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and Denzelle Good.
Hunt — who has been one of the best defenders this season for the Colts — aggravated his knee against the New England Patriots, but ultimately returned to the game despite a concern he could make it worse. Hunt found himself on the sidelines watching practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but was a limited participant in Friday’s practice. Heading into Saturday, Hunt had the questionable label for the game.
In regards to the potential news on Hunt, the Colts elevated defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad to the active roster and waived rookie linebacker Skai Moore in preparation for Sunday’s game.
Hunt leads the league in tackles for loss, tallying 9.0 through five games. Hunt is also tied for fifth in the AFC in sacks with four.
