Stampede Blue’s NFL Week 11 staff picks

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Playoff rematches, top quarterback duels and heated divisional matchups highlight what should be a terrific week of football in Week 11 of the NFL. It all starts Thursday night where the great Aaron Rodgers and his Packers’ team head to Seattle to take on Russell Wilson and the 12th man. Both teams are floating around a make-or-break part of their season, and the winner will take that extra step closer to the playoff hunt.

For Colts’ fans, Mike Vrabel and his Tennessee squad head to Indy in a battle of the second and third place teams in the AFC South. With an Indianapolis win, the two teams will move to 5-5 on the season as they try to inch closer to one of the final wild card spots. The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to exact their revenge against Jacksonville after the Jaguars eliminated them from the playoffs in 2017, and the Texans and Redskins will face off in Washington as two division leaders hoping to cling on to their first-place spots.

This week does feature the less-enticing games like the Buccaneers vs. the Giants, the Cowboys vs. the Falcons and the Cardinals vs. the Raiders, but last week’s Monday Night Football showed us that even the worst teams in the league can put on a terrific display.

Both the Panthers and the Bengals will look to move on from their embarrassing losses a week ago as they face the Lions and Ravens, respectively. For Baltimore, they may not know who will be under center just yet, but they’ll need to end a skid off losses that has potential to derail their postseason hopes.

In the late afternoon slate, the Broncos travel to take on the Chargers in Los Angeles, and the Philadelphia Eagles will look to get back on track against Sean Payton, Drew Brees and the red-hot Saints.

Sunday Night Football gives us a battle for the top spot of the NFC North. Mitchell Trubisky has looked on fire at times this season, and he and that offense will need to put points on the board to keep up with Kirk Cousins, Adam Theilin, Stefon Diggs and Co.

Every game this week however pales in comparison to Monday Night Football, where two of the best records in football with two of the best offenses face off in LA. Andy Reid leads Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City squad up against wonder-kid Sean McVay, Jared Goff, Todd Gurley and the Los Angeles Rams. These two teams have been electric all year, and could be a potential glimpse at the two teams to face off in Super Bowl 52.

With all that said, let’s check out this week’s picks from your Stampede Blue staff. Brett Mock has taken a three-game lead on the rest of the pack, with Andrew Aziz, Chris Shepherd and Stephen Reed all tied for second place. We also welcome newcomer Ana Krasuski to the game, let’s see how the Stampede Blue staff sees Week 11 playing out.
