The Indianapolis Colts host the Miami Dolphins with an opportunity to keep their winning streak going. Their offensive explosion over the last five weeks has put them in a position to compete for a wild card playoff berth and puts pressure on the Houston Texans. Two Colts wins and one Texans loss over the next two weeks could setup the Colts for a chance to play for the division lead in Houston in Week 14.
Indianapolis cannot afford to fall into a trap this week. They will also need help from the Titans or Browns to get the opportunity. Some will argue that it is in the Colts’ best interest for Houston to beat Tennessee, pushing Indianapolis ahead in the wild card race. Others want a chance to win the division and don’t want to see it come down to a last week tie breaker.
Others continue to acknowledge that, like it or not, Frank Reich’s decision to “go for the win” against the Texans at home in Week 4 could very well cost the team the division. All of the, play to win, good for a young team, make believe stuff could crumble in on itself if we’re staring at elimination Week 17 back a half game in the AFC South.
For now, it will take one game at a time. The Dolphins are a team the Colts should beat at home. Let’s see if they can keep the momentum going.
