The Indianapolis Colts (7-6) were able to pull off a very important win over the Houston Texans (9-4) in Week 14 to keep their playoff hopes alive to the tune of 24-21. Andrew Luck had another explosive game, T.Y. Hilton destroyed the Texans’ secondary yet again, and the Colts defense put together another impressive performance in spite of it being the only time this season that they haven’t earned a takeaway.
There were others who stepped up for the Colts offensively, including Zach Pascal and Eric Ebron, but there is also a bit of cause for concern with one aspect of the Colts offense that we’ll touch on in today’s show.
Defensively, Denico Autry tore it up, Darius Leonard and Anthony Walker were also great, and the Colts were impressive against the Texans’ run game. The Colts also earned 5 sacks Sunday, and were constants in the Texans’ backfield making life very difficult for Deshaun Watson and his offense all day.
We’ll talk generally about the Colts Week 14 victory, and give a short recap of the scoring and big plays as well.
We’ll also take some time through the show to discuss the Colts outlook on the remainder of their schedule. With the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants playing their best ball of the season, those two games have a very different feel for the Colts than just a few short weeks ago. Additionally, the Titans are such an inconsistent team, that there is never a real good idea of what they might bring to the table in the season finale.
The Colts are very much in the thick of the AFC Wild Card hunt, but their final three games of the season are anything but gimmes.
