The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly working on hiring Toronto Argonauts offensive coordinator Marcus Brady, per Justin Dunk of 3DownNation — a website that covers the Canadian Football League.

According to Dunk, there is a connection between Brady and new Colts head coach Frank Reich:

“New Indy head coach Frank Reich was a quarterback at the University of Maryland, the same school where former Argos bench boss and current Jacksonville Jaguars quarterbacks coach Scott Milanovich played. Brady spent eight seasons, from 2009 to 2016, on coaching staffs with Milanovich, first in Montreal and then Toronto. That’s the Colts connection.”

Brady has been in the CFL for 16 years (since 2002) — seven as a quarterback for the Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes, and the other nine as as receivers coach and offensive coordinator for the Alouettes and Argonauts.

Brady’s Argonauts won the CFL’s Grey Cup in 2017. They finished sixth-of-nine teams in the CFL in total points (482), second in passing yards (5,777), fourth in passing touchdowns (30), seventh in rushing yards (1,624), ninth in rushing touchdowns (10), sixth in sacks allowed (40), sixth in turnovers (29) and second in time of possession (31:28 per game). Toronto quarterback Ricky Ray finished second in the CFL in passing yards (5,546) and third in passing touchdowns (28).

It is not yet known what role Brady would have on the Colts’ coaching staff.
