QUARTERBACKS
1 - Baker Mayfield — Oklahoma
2 - Josh Rosen — UCLA
3 - Sam Darnold — USC
4 - Kyle Lauletta — Richmond
5 - Mason Rudolph — Oklahoma State
6 - Lamar Jackson — Louisville
7 - Josh Allen — Wyoming
8 - Riley Ferguson — Memphis
9 - Chase Litton — Marshall
10 - Luke Falk — Washington State
Overview: This class is very strong at the top, with Baker Mayfield leading the way. It drops off significantly after Josh Allen, who I view as a late Day 2 pick (and not a potential first overall pick).
RUNNING BACKS
1 - Saquon Barkley — Penn State
2 - Derrius Guice — LSU
3 - Sony Michel — Georgia
4 - Ronald Jones — USC
5 - Josh Adams — Notre Dame
6 - Nick Chubb — Georgia
7 - Akrum Wadley — Iowa
8 - Royce Freeman — Oregon
9 - Mark Walton — Miami (Fla.)
10 - Kerryon Johnson — Auburn
Overview: A very strong class from top to bottom, with a lot of value to be found in the middle rounds. Sony Michel is soaring up the leaderboard!
WIDE RECEIVERS
1 - Anthony Miller — Memphis
2 - Calvin Ridley — Alabama
3 - Courtland Sutton — SMU
4 - James Washington — Oklahoma State
5 - Christian Kirk — Texas A&M
6 - Auden Tate — Florida State
7 - Michael Gallup — Colorado St
8 - Simmie Cobbs Jr. — Indiana
9 - D.J. Chark — LSU
10 - Deontay Burnett — USC
Overview: Anthony Miller is the best receiver in this year’s class and it’s going to take a lot for someone to dethrone him. The only person that could do it Calvin Ridley, who reminds me a lot of Antonio Brown. There’s a lot of potential in this class, but not a lot of finished products.
TIGHT ENDS
1 - Mark Andrews — Oklahoma
2 - Mike Gesicki — Penn State
3 - Dallas Goedert — South Dakota State
4 - Troy Fumagelli — Wisconsin
5 - Hayden Hurst — South Carolina
6 - Marcus Baugh — Ohio State
7 - Dalton Schultz — Stanford
8 - Ian Thomas — Indiana
9 - Adam Breneman — UMass
10 - Chris Herndon — Miami (Fla.)
Overview: Most analysts can’t agree on a top 5, but I like Mark Andrews on the top followed closely behind by Mike Gesicki. There is a lot of talent in the middle rounds and I would rather take a quality prospect in those rounds rather than reach for one early on.
OFFENSIVE TACKLES
1 - Connor Williams — Texas
2 - Orlando Brown Jr. — Oklahoma
3 - Mike McGlinchey — Notre Dame
4 - Tyrell Crosby — Oregon
5 - Chukwuma Okorafor — Western Michigan
6 - Kolton Miller — UCLA
7 - Jamarco Jones — Ohio State
8 - Martinas Rankin — Mississippi State
9 - Brian O'Neill — Pittsburgh
10 - Ike Boettger — Iowa
Overview: Connor Williams and Orlando Brown have been my top two for most of the year and it’s staying like that for now. This class drops off after the top 5, so if you want a good offensive tackle, you better get one early on.
OFFENSIVE GUARDS/CENTERS
1 - Quenton Nelson — Notre Dame
2 - Isaiah Wynn — Georgia
3 - Billy Price — Ohio State
4 - Will Hernandez — UTEP
5 - Frank Ragnow — Arkansas
6 - Mason Cole — Michigan
7 - Bradley Bozeman — Alabama
8 - James Daniels — Iowa
9 - Braden Smith — Auburn
10 - Coleman Shelton — Washington
Overview: This is one of the best interior offensive linemen classes in recent years. Quenton Nelson is a surefire All-Pro pick and the best guard I’ve scouted since David Decastro (who I had the guts to say was a future Hall-of-Famer). Isaiah Wynn and Billy Price are two first-round talents that will have Day 1 impacts. Guys like Braden Smith and Frank Ragnow are two very enticing Day 2 prospects.
EDGE DEFENDERS (4-3 DEFENSIVE ENDS/3-4 OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS)
1 - Bradley Chubb — North Carolina State
2 - Harold Landry — Boston College
3 - Sam Hubbard — Ohio State
4 - Marcus Davenport — UTSA
5 - Arden Key — LSU
6 - Chad Thomas — Miami (Fla.)
7 - Josh Sweat — Florida State
8 - Ogbonnia Okoronkwo — Oklahoma
9 - Marcell Frazier — Missouri
10 - Tyquan Lewis — Ohio State
Overview: Bradley Chubb leads the way and it isn’t close. Some may be surprised to see Sam Hubbard that high, but he’s a versatile, finished product who will have a Day 1 impact. I like Josh Sweat and Chad Thomas in the second and third rounds. Marcus Davenport is one of the scariest prospects in this class with perhaps the most boom or bust potential out of any of the non-QB’s.
INTERIOR DEFENSIVE LINEMEN (3-4 DEFENSIVE ENDS/4-3 DEFENSIVE TACKLES/NOSE TACKLES)
1 - Maurice Hurst — Michigan
2 - Da'Ron Payne — Alabama
3 - Vita Vea — Washington
4 - Harrison Phillips — Stanford
5 - Taven Bryan — Florida
6 - Derrick Nnadi — Florida State
7 - Lowell Lotulelei — Utah
8 - B.J. Hill — North Carolina State
9 - RJ McIntosh — Miami (Fla.)
10 - Trenton Thompson — Georgia
Overview: I love this class from 1 to 5, and then it isn’t as nice. Maurice Hurst is my number 1 and easily had the best tape out of anyone on this list. He’s consistent and ranked high as both a pass rusher and run defender. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s a gamechanger in the NFL.
OFF-BALL LINEBACKERS (4-3 LINEBACKERS/3-4 INSIDE LINEBACKERS)
1 - Roquan Smith — Georgia
2 - Tremaine Edmunds — Virginia Tech
3 - Rashaan Evans — Alabama
4 - Malik Jefferson — Texas
5 - Leighton Vander Esch — Boise State
6 - Josey Jewell — Iowa
7 - Tegray Scales — Indiana
8 - Micah Kizer — Virginia
9 - Azeem Victor — Washington
10 - Christian Sam — Arizona State
Overview: This is one of the best linebacker classes in recent memory. There are four legitimate first-round prospects. Roquan Smith is my favourite as he possesses the best instincts out of any of the linebackers, and I favour instincts over everything else in terms of linebacker play. Josey Jewell and Tegray Scales are two sleeper Day 2 picks that could have immediate impacts. Both are different players (Jewell is like Paul Posluszny, and Scales is like Telvin Smith), but I expect both to have long careers.
CORNERBACKS
1 - Josh Jackson — Iowa
2 - Denzel Ward — Ohio State
3 - Jaire Alexander — Louisville
4 - M.J. Stewart — North Carolina
5 - Mike Hughes — UCF
6 - Holton Hill — Texas
7 - Donte Jackson — LSU
8 - Quenton Meeks — Stanford
9 - Tarvarus McFadden — Florida State
10 - Isaiah Oliver — Colorado
Overview: Josh Jackson is my current number 1, but Denzel Ward is right up there with him. I love M.J. Stewart after his fantastic Senior Bowl week and I expect him to sneak into the first round. The rest of the class offers a lot of raw athleticism.
SAFETIES
1 - Minkah Fitzpatrick — Alabama
2 - Derwin James — Florida State
3 - Ronnie Harrison — Alabama
4 - Justin Reid — Stanford
5 - Armani Watts — Texas A&M
6 - Kyzir White — West Virginia
7 - DeShon Elliott — Texas
8 - Damon Webb — Ohio State
9 - Marcus Allen — Penn State
10 - Jordan Whitehead — Pittsburgh
Overview: The top 3 are fantastic, first-round talents, and then there ‘s a drop-off. This class is very top heavy, and it’s hard to find a lot of talent in the middle rounds. If you want a good safety, you’ll have plenty of chances in the first or second round, but don’t expect much value after that.
