Josh McDaniels just made life a lot harder for great coordinators who coach deep in the playoffs and want HC jobs.

NFC GM: “It’s easy to mock the Colts but what Josh did was unprofessional. I know that’s not a popular take but it’s true.”

Colts spent an hour on the phone with McDaniels working on staff and sending slips in for potential assistant coaches hires. Stunning

Maybe I'm still processing this, but am I to understand that #JoshMcDaniels' decision came down to not moving his family? Wonder if that crossed his mind for his #Colts coaching staff he bailed on... Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

... Yeah I don't think so either. What a douchebag.
Could have been worse Colts fans...
— Benjamin Allbright (@AllbrightNFL) February 7, 2018
...he could have stayed, ruined the culture around your franchise, fired lifers around the organization, and replaced them with high school buddies with no experience, like the last time.
At this point, Josh McDaniels will not be allowed to coach anywhere other than New England. Abandoning the #Colts with assistants already under contract is surely unprofessional enough no one else will look at him for a job.

Colts fans, if it’s any solace, you don’t want a head coach who isn’t 100% committed. And McDaniels sure as hell wasn’t.

Of course this is embarrassing for the Colts, but It's kind of hard to put a ton of blame on the groom (Colts) when you have the venue, dress, flowers, caterer, and honeymoon booked, yet the bride (McDaniels) bolts after the rehearsal dinner. https://t.co/lMdR1W4qyE

The Colts' assistants you've seen reported (e.g. Matt Eberflus as DC) have signed contracts and have been in the team's building, sources say. Indications are they'll still be with the team, albeit under a different HC than McDaniels.

Not only that, but Josh McDaniels was calling assistants earlier today and offering them jobs. No more. https://t.co/13RCMZQMJP
