With the sixth pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts have selected guard Quenton Nelson from Notre Dame.
Widely considered as a top-three prospect in the 2018 draft class, Nelson has All-Pro potential and can be a 1-year starter on the offensive line for the Colts. With a below-average running game, inconsistency in the trenches, and a failure to protect the man under center, Chris Ballard went to work and grabbed possibly the most NFL-ready prospect — one who will improve all of the previously mentioned flaws. Nelson is the third offensive lineman taken by the Colts in the first round since 2011, joining Ryan Kelly and Anthony Castonzo as first round picks up front for Indianapolis.
