IU Quarterback Richard Lagow Invited to Colts Rookie Minicamp

NCAA Football: Ohio State at Indiana Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

A familiar face will get a shot to make an impression at Indianapolis Colts rookie minicamp this weekend. According to former Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Richard Lagow, he will be in attendance this weekend.

In 23 games at IU, Lagow completed 425-of-733 passes (58.0%) for 5,298 yards, 34 touchdowns and 25 interceptions for a passer rating of 127.2. His signature game came last season against the Ohio State Buckeyes, where Lagow completed 40-of-65 attempts (61.5%) for 410 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

Lagow also participated in the Colts’ local pro day in April. Last year, center Deyshawn Bond and wide receiver Krishawn Hogan were participants in the local pro day, and both joined the Colts as undrafted free agents (Bond right after the draft, Hogan off of waivers). If Lagow’s tryout goes well and he is signed by the Colts, he could threaten Brad Kaaya or Phillip Walker behind Andrew Luck and Jacoby Brissett.

Other rookies rumored to be trying out for the Colts this weekend: Wisconsin safety Joe Ferguson, Washington State offensive lineman Cody O’Connell, Utah cornerback Kenric Young, Iowa offensive lineman Boone Myers, South Dakota State defensive lineman Kellen Soulek, Oregon wide receiver Charles Nelson, Youngstown State offensive lineman Justin Spencer, Rutgers defensive end/tight end Myles Nash and Monmouth safety Mike Basile.
