In a move to add more depth to a banged up running back group, the Colts have added Tion Green and waived linebacker William Ossai who was on the Non-Football Illness list.

Green is a second-year player out of the University of Cincinatti, and at 6’0” and 220lbs, will provide a big back to help in short yardage situations. He spent his first year with the Detroit Lions and played in five games, getting 42 carries and gaining 165 yards and two touchdowns.

Green will undoubtedly be thrown into the mix immediately and will have an opportunity to compete for a chunk of the running game, with Marlon Mack, Robert Turbin, and Branden Oliver dealing with minor injuries.

Ossai signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent May 1st and spent his college time with San Jose State. Ossai was likely a longshot to make the final roster, but you still hate to see a player miss out on an opportunity to compete due to an unrelated illness.

True to form, Chris Ballard doesn’t look to be anywhere near done churning this roster in the hopes of getting the best available team together.
