The wide receiver position for the Colts has been unsettled at best, and injuries aren’t making the picture any clearer. Today in practice two injuries have added to the Colts struggles, and depending in its severity, one of them could be a major problem.
Midway through the joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens, T.Y. Hilton ended up on the sideline with pads off and an ice wrap on his left shoulder.
Not fight related, but WR T.Y. Hilton has his pads off with a wrap around his left shoulder area. We’ll get an update.

There wasn’t a clear indication of what caused the issue, but Hilton missing any time would be a crushing blow to an already weak wide receiver group that lost a promising rookie in Deon Cain during the first preseason game.
In addition to Hilton, K.J. Brent went down after a play and was holding his knee. The trainers were looking at him for awhile.
Big scare for #Colts. K.J. Brent went down clutching his knee after push in the back following a completion. Spent a long time with the trainers. No further info for now.

Brent was operating as the 4th receiver on the depth chart and his loss would hurt, because it would leave the team without a lot of depth. If either of these injuries were to be of the kind that would drag on at all, Chris Ballard would almost certainly have to consider bringing in a free agent to fill a spot on the roster.
We will update you as more information becomes available.
