The Colts have battled the injury bug hard so far in this young season as presumed starters such as RB Marlon Mack, SAF Malik Hooker, OT Anthony Castonzo, and ILB Anthony Walker remain out with injuries either suffered last season or in camp. Key depth players such as OC Deyshawn Bond, OT Denzelle Goode, and RB Robert Turbin also remain out.
Some rookies who were expected to play a big part in this upcoming season also remain out with injuries. UDFA WR KJ Brent suffered a knee injury in practice this week and is not expected to play. Brent was expected to have a much bigger role going forward after the injury to fellow rookie WR Deon Cain (ACL) ended his season last week. DE Kemoko Turay and DT Tyquan Lewis are also still out with non serious injuries as the rookies look to be ready for the season opener.
Lastly, newly signed depth players such as Branden Oliver are not expected to play while they still try to learn the playbook before seeing any action. TY Hilton is expected to play however after dealing with a shoulder injury all week in practice.
