Colts activate guard Jeremy Vujnovich from active/PUP list

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

More good news for the Colts this morning as they elevated guard Jeremy Vujnovich to the active roster from the PUP list. This means that the team currently has no players on the Non-Football Injury list or the PUP list.

Jeremy Vujnovich started 16 games last season for the Colts at left guard and has missed time during training camp with a calf injury. That time out will sting because Vujnovich will be fighting to retain a spot on the roster with the influx of talent on the offensive line.

However, his experience will be in his favor and it will be a good thing to have depth on the roster in practice so that players on the interior of the offensive line are not being overworked. It also won’t hurt to have depth in the form of guys who have actually had time on the field in real football games.

The new coaching staff are being lauded as excellent teachers of the game, and while there were many flaws in Vujnovich’s play last season, he was able to beat out the other options to start all season, so perhaps this staff can mold Vujnovich into a valuable backup on this roster.
