Start or Sit: Analyzing who needs to be in your lineup from the Colts, Redskins matchup

Week 2 of the fantasy football season has arrived and there are several players from the Colts and Redskins that could benefit some lineups.

Start: Adrian Peterson or Chris Thompson, RB, Washington Redskins

Sit: TY Hilton and Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts; Alex Smith and Jordan Reed, Washington Redskins

The Indianapolis Colts struggled to limit Joe Mixon’s effectiveness in Week 1, giving up 149 total yards — 95 rushing and 54 receiving — and one touchdown. While the Indianapolis defense showed promise at times, one the weaknesses in the unit is the ability to defend running backs — whether that’s through the ground game or catching the ball out of the backfield.

The injury to Derrius Guice put the Redskins in a predicament at running back, but that concern was wiped away during Washington’s opening week matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Adrian Peterson touched the ball 26 times for 95 yards and a touchdown, and this week should be no different as the future hall-of-famer is primed for another big workload.

On the other hand, Chris Thompson should see a lot of playing time as well after tallying 128 total yards and a touchdown against Arizona.

With the impending weather from Hurricane Florence, I expect the running backs on both teams to get a lot of action.

The reason I’m choosing to sit TY Hilton and Andrew Luck this week isn’t the fact that Washington’s defense is expected to completely shut them down. But it’s due to the fact that the environment is Sunday’s game is expected to be a little rough for both teams.

Luck threw the ball 55 times against the Bengals — and if this was a game with normal weather, I would say to have the talented quarterback in your lineup, along with Hilton.
