The Indianapolis Colts picked up their first win of the 2018 season, 21-9, over the Washington Redskins on the road. Last week the Redskins defense was the best in the league at defending third-down situations, and the Colts were the best offense at converting them.
Today the Colts offense was equally impressive, and the Redskins simply didn’t have an answer for the defensive intensity the team brought to the field. This is also Frank Reich’s first win as the Colts head coach, and as a result, he received the game ball from owner Jim Irsay.
There are many reasons Colts fans are loving the new scheme and approach in-game from the first-year coach, but his celebration with the team after the game was pretty awesome as well.
Congrats on that first W, Coach! pic.twitter.com/olPh0t0l7q

All of the sudden fans and teams around the league are seeing that this Colts roster is not one that will give up, and that their speed, athleticism and play design on both sides of the ball is going to keep them in a lot of games this year. The Colts travel to face off against Reich’s former team (Philadelphia Eagles 1-1) next Sunday.
The Eagles did throw a ton today, but lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21-27 and if Nick Foles starts, the Colts shouldn’t be counted out once they get in between the lines. Andrew Luck is playing pretty well, and this defense — led by Darius Leonard — is as energetic and opportunistic as we’ve ever seen in Indianapolis.
One thing is for sure, Frank Reich is still young enough to at least attempt to dance (if you can actually call something from Fortnite a dance), but Jim Irsay is not and should never try again.
