Today on a conference call, Indianapolis Colts GM Chris Ballard stated that rookie defensive tackle/defensive end Tyquan Lewis will be headed to Injured-Reserve as a result of a toe injury that just didn’t heal.
"He's got a toe injury that just wouldn't heal," Ballard said.

Lewis was selected in the second round by the Colts and was expected to split time between a role at defensive tackle to outmatch the speed of offensive linemen, and a possible future endeavor of working as a defensive end which he did in college at Ohio State.
Lewis was someone the Colts had high hopes for with the switch to the 4-3 base, Tampa-2 style defensive scheme, but suffered his injury early in training camp and never really bounced back in order to continue practicing.
The roster move has not been officially announced at this time, nor has a corresponding move been made to replace him on the roster.
