As Chris Ballard stated yesterday in his conference call with reporters, Tyquan Lewis is now officially being placed on Injured-Reserve due to a toe injury that never healed up. The Indianapolis Colts have also announced that former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Ryan Hewitt is being signed to fill that hole on the roster.

This now gives the Colts four tight ends to run with on the roster as they prepare for Week 1 of the 2018 season. Hewitt has started 38 games in his four-year NFL career and has totaled 22 receptions (32 targets) for 220 yards.
Lewis is likely to be a candidate to return after the mid-way point in the season. The second-round pick’s last practice was very early in camp, and never returned to the practice field throughout the duration of the summer.
The Colts roster now stands at 53 active players.
