Questionable Calls

From the start of the game it seemed we had no business winning the game. Drops, off sides and poor just about everything. However, the Colts have won games like this (Raiders, Giants and Dolphins.) Could they have made a comeback? It was somewhat possible. We made just enough of those types of plays to make it interesting with the blocked kick and the Leonard fumble. But there are just a few plays that if we had gotten the benefit of the doubt we could have had a closer game.. Here are those plays.

-Hands to the face on Nelson. Multiple times there were no calls on Big Q defending Jones mauling his helmet. I can see a missed one every now and then. These can be tough to catch and really impact the game less than the others problems. Outcome: 3 and out.

-Sammy Watkins had the ball and ran out of bounds with 1:46 left on the clock. Clock does not stop and we are forced to burn our last TO. Seemed like a bad call by the refs. Not as bad as last seconds against Jags but still had an effect. Outcome: Burnt TO right before last chance 1st half drive.

-Chester comes back to ball and catches it, then dives out of bounds with :38 left in the second. Clock does not stop again.... With the lost time here and the lack of timeout because of the Watkins OB call we end up with one shot at a touch down and for the love of God, we run a fade route. Horrible call yet we should have had more than one chance if one or both of the clock stoppage chances were given to us. Outcome: Colts lose valuable time at end of half.

-Huge play, Autry sacks Mahomes to get the ball back. Could be a defining moment.... And we have a 15 yard penalty for his dance. Could have gone either way but once again went to benefit KC. Outcome: backs us up from short field.

-2:52 in the 3rd, Mack run up the gut for 15 yards. Called back for holding. Pretty horrible call, defender was falling down and Braden Smith was pulling and made contact. He would have been better off not touching him so hold couldn't have been called and result would have been the same. Defender had zero chance on the play. Outcome, 2nd and long, uphill battle from there.

-Probably the nail in the coffin. Goode running into the kicker. Essentially game, set and match. If there was any chance left to realistically comeback, it was ended here. Very ticky tack call here. Replay shows his leg brushed up with not nearly enough contact to cause punter to fall. Outcome: Chiefs ball, no change of possession. Killer.

Maybe I'm just being a homer. But I felt these calls could have gone either way yet pretty consistently went against.
