The Indianapolis Colts today signed defensive tackle Trevon Coley to the active roster and released defensive tackle Jihad Ward from the active roster in the corresponding roster move.
We have signed DT Trevon Coley to our 53-man roster from Baltimore’s practice squad and waived DT Jihad Ward.https://t.co/QKPLJBzmar— Indianapolis Colts (@Colts) October 1, 2019
Defensive tackle Trevon Coley was signed off the Baltimore Ravens practice squad. He was originally signed with the Ravens after going undrafted out of Florida Atlantic in the 2016 NFL Draft. Coley has had stints at Washington and at the Browns before returning to the Ravens on their practice squad.
Coley, 6’1 310lbs, brings much-needed size to the Colts defensive front. Coley will get snaps at nose tackle and 3-technique to begin, according to The Athletic’s Stephen Holder. Coley has been brought in to help shore up the Colts run defensive issues.
Conley will get a look at NT and 3-tech, from what I'm told. We'll see whether he earns some playing time over the next few weeks.— Stephen Holder (@HolderStephen) October 1, 2019
Defensive tackle Jihad Ward was originally signed to the Colts practice squad on September 3rd 2018 and then promoted to the active roster on September 13th 2018. Ward played in nine games with the Colts over the last two seasons.
