Jacoby Brissett Stat Tracker: Week 7

Houston Texans v Indianapolis Colts Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty Images

Weekly dashboard of QB stats. Thanks to the nflscrapR project and the NFL Next Gen Stats who are the timely sources of this data. Shout-out to Arrowhead Pride’s Ethan Douglas whose weekly advanced analytics articles inspired some of these reports (OK, I stole them).

Commentary will be brief but feel free to let me know in the comments that stats aren’t everything.

HOW WELL?

Against The Houston Texans, Jacoby Brissett had an outstanding game reflected in the big 4 stats that even eclipse his week 3 performance against the Falcons.

TO WHO?

Not only did Zach Pascal have a great week, but he surpassed Eric Ebron for 2nd place in season yards.

You want your wide receivers to live in the upper right hand quadrant of this chart.

HOW FAR?

Both completed and attempted air yards increased to about league average, making it much easier to attain good efficiency numbers.

HOW ACCURATE?

Brissett’s 67% completion rate was 7% higher than expected given the depth of his throws. On the season he has slightly better than average accuracy with 6 - 15 yards passes being his most inaccurate.

HOW QUICK?

Brissett’s time to throw increased this week to just under 3 seconds, but he only incurred 1 sack maintaining his dramatically improved season sack rate. Kudos to both Brissett’s much improved pocket awareness as well as good O-line work.
