Colts-Broncos announce Week 8 inactives: Cain and Wilson both healthy scratches; Lewis, Desir also out

The Indianapolis Colts are heading into their Week 8 matchup with the Denver Broncos about as healthy as they’ve been since the beginning of the season. The bad news is that the team still can’t dress all 53 players even if they are healthy.

The team announced that Carl Davis was their lone “out” designation for this one due to injury, but there were still some questions about whether or not a few others would be ready to go or not.

However, today there are some surprises in addition to what looks like a couple guys being inactive due to them being given another week to get back to 100 percent. Deon Cain, and Quincy Wilson are two that jump right off the page.

Unless they’ve gotten injured outside of practice, both of them are healthy scratches today, and have been the topic of conversations in the realm of guys who haven’t really performed up to expectations. Cain wasn’t targeted at all last week, and only has 12 targets and 52 receiving yards on the year after coming back from a knee injury that ended his rookie season before it could start.

I do wonder if there are any trade implications with these two in particular. Just a thought as the trade deadline is less than a week away.

Le’ Raven Clark has yet to be active if i’m not mistaken, so that isn’t a surprise, but also Pierre Desir and Tyquan Lewis were both thought to have been getting healthy, especially Lewis who was a full participant in Friday’s practice. Lewis and Desir were listed as questionable so it’s not completely out of the ordinary.

Johnathan Williams is also inactive and makes sense with three healthy running backs ready to go ahead of him.

Parris Campbell, Malik Hooker, and Jack Doyle — who were also all questionable — are all going to suit up today which is some very good news for the Colts hoping to keep their winning ways going as the team heads in to a very favorable portion of their schedule.

Here are the Broncos’ inactives for today as well.
