Colts-Jaguars announce Week 11 inactives: Desir and Wilkins out, Alie-Cox and Lewis will suit up

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts Thomas J. Russo-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts are digging in for their Week 11 AFC South matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars — their first meeting of the season. The Colts will have Jacoby Brissett back under center, and the Jaguars will have Nick Foles back in action as well.

Most Colts’ fans probably aren’t too worried about Foles slinging the rock, but in his two games against the Horseshoe, Foles is 2-0 with one of those wins coming with the Kansas City Chiefs in relief of Alex Smith, and the other, a start with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Both wins came in Lucas Oil Stadium as well. In those two outings, Foles has gone 37-of-59 (62.7%), with 277 passing yards per game (9.4 YPA), throwing 3 touchdowns with only a single interception, and has only been sacked twice.

The Colts are hoping to keep Foles from having another big game against them, but they also need a big game from their signal-caller against a Jaguars’ defense that who’ve won 5 of the last 7 meetings against the Colts, and have only allowed an average of 12 points in those games to the Colts.

The Colts have two receivers who were already ruled out earlier in the week in T.Y. Hilton, and Parris Campbell. Pierre Desir was designated as doubtful, and Mo Alie-Cox as well as Jordan Wilkins were both questionable heading into today’s matchup.

As the Colts have announced their Week 11 inactives, there is some marginally good news with Alie-Cox being active, however, Desir and Wilkins will not be. Additionally, Le’Raven Clark and Quincy Wilson will not suit up today.

Wilson being inactive is just another sign that the Colts have lost faith in him as a contributor to this team. Third-string quarterback, Chad Kelly is also inactive for the game today.

On the other hand, Tyquan Lewis will finally be active today and I think everyone would love to see him make a real game of his opportunity to prove to some fans and the Colts’ leadership that he can be an integral part of the future for the Colts’ defense.

Here are the Jaguars’ inactives for today’s game as well.
