Three Colts sign ERFA tenders with NFL Draft around the corner

Chester Rogers, Matthias Farley and Marcus Johnson have all now signed their exclusive rights tenders

As the 2019 NFL Draft approaches and the free agency period has toned down significantly, three of the Indianapolis Colts exclusive rights free agents have signed their tenders. Safety Matthias Farley, and receivers Chester Rogers and Marcus Johnson are all now officially on the 2019 roster.

Safety has been a position of “need” for the Colts according to most analysts heading into the draft, however, the unit has a lot of experience and some quality players already in place. It appears as though at least for now, Chris Ballard likes where the group is currently at.

Receivers Chester Rogers and Marcus Johnson are both pieces that the team feels is going to bolster what they’re hoping to build going forward. This year may produce another youngster to the corps, but with Deon Cain and Daurice Fountain being younger options already in place, it seems similar that the Colts will likely be very picky on their search for one through this draft.

Johnson was acquired via a trade with the Seattle Seahawks last season and is well-liked by Frank Reich. Rogers was an instrumental piece in the Colts late-season success, and Farley is a key leadership piece for the defense that they are not ready to move off of.

The Colts 2019 roster is coming into place nicely thus far.
