The Indianapolis Colts came into the first round with a pick slotted at No. 26, and left Thursday night without using it. Day 1 of the 2019 NFL Draft came with a few surprises, but the Colts trading back wasn’t really one of them.
On the other hand, the discussion of whether or not Chris Ballard received enough compensation for that No. 26 overall selection is worth having. Additionally, we saw the opposition in the AFC South improve, especially defensively, and the Colts still have the No. 2 pick in the second round to upgrade wherever they’d like to on Friday.
We’ll discuss what’s left for the Colts’ early pick in the second round, and make a prediction, as well as look at what the Colts need to battle in the division in 2019.
The Colts hold the 34th, 46th, and 59th pick in the second round and Ballard cautions Colts fans in his post-draft presser with “We may not be done.”
