Colts sign Rock Ya-Sin and Parris Campbell to rookie deals

The Indianapolis Colts announced Monday night that second-round pick cornerback Rock Ya-Sin and second-round pick wide receiver Parris Campbell have signed their rookie contracts.

Ya-Sin and Campbell, taken with the 34th and 59th picks of the 2019 NFL Draft, respectively, become the eighth and ninth draft choices to sign their first professional contracts. Cornerback Marvin Tell III and safety Khari Willis signed their deals on May 13, while linebacker Ben Banogu, tackle Jackson Barton, defensive end Gerri Green, center Javon Patterson and linebacker E.J. Speed inked their deals on May 3. Third-round linebacker Bobby Okereke remains the only draft choice yet to have signed.

Ya-Sin, the former state-champion wrestler, joins the Colts after 47 tackles and 12 pass deflections in 12 games with the Temple Owls this past season. On the other side of the ball, Campbell racked up 143 receptions and 1,978 yards from scrimmage in 43 games with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Both are expected to have immediate impacts at their respective positions and should help bolster some of the biggest positions-of-need heading into this offseason.
